Periodic Inspection Reports
A periodic inspection and series of tests to make sure your electrical installation continue to conform to the national safety standard. A periodic inspection report will
- Reveal if any of your electrical circuits or equipment are overloaded.
- Find any potential electric shock risks or fire hazards.
- Identify any defective electrical work.
- Highlight any lack of earthing or bonding.
Tests are also carried out on wiring and fixed electrical equipment to check that it is safe. A schedule of circuits will also be provided, which is invaluable for a property.
A periodic inspection should be carried out:
- When a property is being prepared to be let.
- Before selling a property
- When buying a previously occupied property
I work on a number system which indicates a level of urgency for the observations and recommendations of action to be taken:
- Requires urgent attention
- Requires improvement
- Requires further investigation
- Does not comply with BS7671: this does not imply that the electrical installation inspected is unsafe.
Typically for a Periodic inspection we charge between £150.00 and £295.00 for a 1 bedroom to 4 bedroom house. This price can vary due to the size of the property but should give a rough guide. Please call should you require further information.

Periodic Inspection Report and repairs
An inspection report was completed on my buy-to-let property and items highlighted which needed attention. Quote was clear and broken down by cost for each element. Recommendations were carried out within 48 hours of receiving the report. Very easy to deal with, kept to prices quoted, arrived on time - over all very good, thanks!
